Ways to Kick-Start Your New Year 2013

New beginnings render countless opportunities to improve your life. The new year is the perfect time to try new undertakings and pursue new goals. Kick-starting the new year with a powerful boost of motivation and inspiration is the key to fulfilling your intentions. When you clearly identify and define your objectives you can easily take the appropriate steps to accomplish them and make your life richer. Your goals don't have to be lofty and extravagant. They only need to be meaningful and significant to you.
1
  • Make a generous donation to your favorite charity. Giving is the gift that keeps giving. If you already donate to a charity, increase your donation by 5 percent or adopt a new charity. Organizations don't have to be your sole recipients. Try making anonymous donations to strangers and family members in need.

Resolve to live a life of fun and pleasure. Devote one day a week to self-gratification. It may be as simple as sleeping in and eating your favorite breakfast or going out dancing with friends. The more you feel good, the more you will love and embrace life.

  • Throw a party. Celebrate holidays, birthdays and achievements with pizazz. Host parties and invite family and friends over for banter, good food, and laughter. If you don't have the space for a party, plan a get-together at the beach, park or a restaurant. Ask friends if they would be willing to open their homes for small, intimate gatherings. Don't bear the burden of providing all the food and party favors. Plan potlucks and collect contributions from your guests.

Plan a vacation. Choose a destination that works best for you. Your vacation does not have to be an exotic Caribbean getaway. Planning a trip to a local city that you have never visited can be just as adventurous. You can take a vacation in your own city. Act like tourist. Rent a hotel room and visit any cultural and historical sites that you have overlooked or have always wanted to take in.

Learn to do something that you have always desired to grasp. Enroll in a class at your local community center or church. Conduct an online research and seek out opportunities to learn a new skill or hobby. Find a friend who specializes in an art and make arrangements with him to teach you what he knows.

Feel healthier. Take whatever steps you need to take in order to lead a healthier lifestyle. Don't follow someone else's plan, develop your own. You may decide that you need to exercise more, or you may need to start investing in eight hours of sleep every night. Perhaps you need to begin eating nutritious meals. Take your plan one step at a time and make sure that it is custom-designed just for you.
